Cathedrals at Night
Derby Cathedral will open after hours, on Saturday 14th May, to welcome in visitors for free. This is part of the first coordinated nationwide Cathedrals at Night campaign in the UK, co-ordinated by the Association of English Cathedrals.

Peace Doves Soar at Derby Cathedral
The large-scale art installation is created by renowned sculptor and artist Peter Walker and features 8,000 paper doves suspended on ribbons above the nave, accompanied by a tranquil soundscape from composer David Harper.

Easter Message from the Dean of Derby

The Peace Doves community arts project has been given even greater poignancy with the invasion and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
Living in Love and Faith
Here at Derby Cathedral we are pleased to be hosting the Living in Love and Faith course. The course explore issues of identity, relationships, living together, sex and community life over five sessions delivered over five weeks, each session lasting one and half hours. Mirror-like Marble Photographic Exhibition
We are extremely proud to be hosting Mirror-like Marble, a ‘walk-by’ photographic exhibition by artist and researcher Rebecca Howard (University of Derby) between 12th March and 9th April in the windows of the Cathedral Centre (18-19 Iron Gate DE1 3GP)
A message from the Dean of Derby
The archbishop of Canterbury has called the Russian attack on the country of Ukraine, ‘an act of great evil’. In a shared message with the archbishop of York he has made three specific calls to stop and pray for peace and reconciliation.
Opening hours We wanted to share with you the good news that from 1st February we will be returning to our 'pre pandemic' opening hours. This means that the Cathedral will remain open after our weekday service of Morning Prayer until our evening service. On a Wednesday and a Saturday while there is currently no evening services we will remain open until 5.00 pm.
