At its heart, Derby Cathedral is a house of prayer. Prayers are offered daily for the world-wide church, for the Diocese of Derby and especially for the Bishop, for the people and communities of Derby and Derbyshire, for the needs of the world and for the life of our nation in all its varied aspects.

Opportunities for Prayer

Come into the cathedral during the day to light a candle, find a time of quiet and leave requests for the cathedral to include in daily prayers

Join us for Morning Prayer at 8.30, Monday-Friday, either in the cathedral or online

Come to Choral Evensong and allow the richness and beauty of the music to bring you closer into the presence of God

Use the cathedral prayer diary as a focus for your own personal daily prayers

Know that when you are praying privately, you are joined by others doing the same, not only from Derby Cathedral but all around the world
