Thy Kingdom Come Prayer Vigil 2025

Written on 16/05/2025

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Thy Kingdom Come – a worldwide prayer movement inviting Christians around the world to prayer. Launched by the Church of England’s archbishops it now takes place in over 170 countries and involves 85 different denominations.

Thy Kingdom Come takes place between the Festival of Ascension and the celebration of Pentecost. This is time in the Christian calendar of expectation and anticipation. As Jesus ascended he promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to enable the disciples he left behind to be witnesses to the resurrection throughout the world.

Please come and join the Bishop of Repton and the Dean of Derby in prayer anytime from 7pm onwards. There will be a reflection every half hour, time for silent prayer and prayer stations to help us pray.

Please stay for as long or as short a time as you are able. Refreshments are available.
