At Derby Cathedral we want to make sure we deliver a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all our visitors. The majority of the building is accessible for wheelchair and mobility scooter users alike. Following a recent Accessibility Audit, the Cathedral is working on making further improvements to ensure that all areas are accessible.
Our Ministry of Welcome team are on hand to provide assistance.
Please see below for full information about resources and facilities in various areas for visitors with disabilities or additional access needs.
If you have any questions before your visit, please contact the Cathedral team on 01332 341201 or office@derbycathedral.org.
There are two step-free toilets at the West End which are not suitable for wheelchair users. There is a disabled toilet at the East End – please ask the team for further assistance.
Induction loops are permanently on in the Cathedral. If you have any problems, please speak to a member of the team.
The main entrance at the West End is step-free and is accessible through two swinging glass doors. A member of the team will be on hand if you need help.
If you need a wheelchair please speak to one of the vergers who will get this for you.
These are available from a steward for all Sunday services and Special Services.
Disabled parking can be found at the West of the Cathedral; however spaces are limited and cannot be guaranteed.
