Written on 04/11/2025

Wednesday 12 and 19 November

14:00 – 16:00

Derby Cathedral Offices | Free to attend

The second of our contemporary issue theological exploration seminars looking at an issue that all of us contend with every day of our lives. The two sessions will be led by Sue Richardson.

Session 1

  • How does money speak to us?
  • How do we understand what money does to us and for us?
  • What does faith say to money?

Session 2

  • What about money and inequality?
  • Can we use money ethically?
  • Can we have ‘enough’ money?
  • What does faith say about abundance in a world that fears scarcity?

Sue Richardson has spent a good part of her working life thinking about, discussing, teaching and dealing with money. She worked for Christian Aid for 35 years encouraging individuals and communities to give to those in need, but also to understand how our systems of trade and aid, debt and international finance affect the lives of the poor. For the last ten years she was a Theological Adviser working across denominations on ministerial training.

She now is a trustee of the JustMoney Movement and chairs their programme ‘Church Action for Tax Justice’.
