VE Day 80th Anniversary Commemoration Service

You are warmly invited to attend the VE Day Anniversary Commemoration Service on Thursday 8th May 2025 at 5.30pm at Derby Cathedral.

Thursday 8th May 2025 marks the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe. This service for all in the county of Derbyshire and the city of Derby will remember the events of that day and give thanks for those who gave their lives in sacrifice for the freedom we have today.

We hope you will be able to join us for this important occasion. You are invited to stay for refreshments afterwards and to listen to the Cathedral bells ring a commemorative peal after the service.

This service is being organised by a partnership between the Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Derby Cathedral, Royal British Legion, University of Derby and Derby City Council.
