Derby Cathedral awarded grant by the Cathedral Music Trust

We are delighted to announce that Derby Cathedral has been awarded £29,500 from the Cathedral Music Trust to expand our Music in Schools programme over the next two years. The expansion of the programme will include the launch of a keyboard programme, which will aim to grow the next generation of organists in Derby and Derbyshire, giving wider access to the instrument for children in our area.

Alexander Binns, our Director of Music says, ‘Our Music in Schools programme currently works with 800 children across our area each week, providing a high-quality musical education through singing. We’re incredibly grateful to the Cathedral Music Trust for this award, which allows us to expand our programme and launch a keyboard programme, changing the lives of more young people through Cathedral music.’
