On Sunday, Derby Cathedral was delighted to host a special service, alongside Community Action Derby, Rural Action Derbyshire and Foundation Derbyshire, celebrating the invaluable work of the voluntary and community sector across the city.
The service brought together representatives from a wide range of local charities and community groups, giving thanks for their dedication, compassion, and the vital support they provide to so many people in Derby. Through prayer, reflection and shared worship, we recognised the difference these organisations make in building stronger, more caring communities.
We were honoured to welcome those who serve selflessly day in and day out, often behind the scenes, and to acknowledge their commitment to helping others. The service also offered an opportunity to reflect on the importance of partnership, generosity, and hope in responding to the needs of our city.
Derby Cathedral is proud to stand alongside the voluntary and community sector, and we look forward to continuing to support and celebrate this essential work.
