John Stainer: The Crucifixion

Stainer’s Crucifixion sung by Derby Cathedral Choir with Alexander Binns (director) and Edward Turner (organ)

On Good Friday, the Cathedral Choir will be singing The Crucifixion by John Stainer. The work, with libretto written by WJ Sparrow Simpson, is a meditation on the Passion of Christ, and includes various dramatic arias sung by our Lay Clerks, and much-loved hymnody to be sung by the Congregation.

Time: 19:00

This performance is not ticketed, but a donation of £5 per head is suggested on the day.
