Music Patron Scheme launched by Derby Cathedral

Derby Cathedral is delighted to announce the launch of a Music Patron Scheme, which has been set up to help fund music at Derby Cathedral.

There is a considerable financial cost to fund the activities of the music department in order to provide inspiring music and this work includes maintaining and developing the Cathedral Choir through singing lessons, music scores, and robes; as well as supporting the Music in Schools sessions; and other areas such as new programmes of music development.

The Music Patron Scheme is a membership scheme which has an option for everyone, depending on what you are able to give.

Benefits include a regular e-newsletter and invitation to an annual Music Patron reception, drink vouchers for the bar, and discounts on tickets for Cathedral Choir concerts, to name a few.  Memberships start from £10 a month, and there is also a special Student membership for only £15 a year, to make the Scheme accessible to everyone.

The Very Revd Dr Peter Robinson, Dean of Derby says:  “The work of our Cathedral Choirs and Music at Derby Cathedral is only possible to maintain through the generous support of individuals. We are excited to launch our new Music Patron Scheme and hope you will feel compelled to become a member.”

The Music Patron Scheme will launch at the Derby Cathedral Choir Concert, With a Merry Voice, on 7^th July, which is a showcase of its excellence.  Further information about the Concert can be found here
