Derby Cathedral appoints new Head of Operations

After considerable discussions, Chapter believe there is a positive opportunity to reshape this senior position whilst still maintaining this essential role within our Cathedral. Therefore, the decision has been taken to develop a new role: a full time Head of Operations, working alongside a part time Chief Operating Officer.

We are delighted to announce that the Chapter has invited Jessica Kilmurray to take up the role of Head of Operations. We have also invited Carol Thomas to return as part-time Chief Operating Officer. Carol will operate remotely from Scotland, but also work regularly from Derby Cathedral.

The Chapter believe these are forward thinking, progressive appointments for the Cathedral community as well as demonstrating the Cathedral’s commitment to develop career opportunities from within the current team. Both Jessica and Carol will take up their new roles from 1^st September 2023 and do so with our good wishes and prayers.
