To celebrate Gaia, that will be with us from 22nd September until 16th October, we have a series of events for you to enjoy – there is something for everyone.

  • Mindfulness: 10th October
    These relaxing sessions will encourage you to step into the moment and experience techniques that help take charge of thought processes. More Details
  • Urban Ramble: 30th September
    Join Down to Earth Derby and Sprout Derby for a fun and educational ramble around the City identifying flora and fauna and learning about plans for nature-based regeneration. More Details
  • Music and Wellbeing: 3rd October
    Join us for a talk on the benefits of music to our wellbeing.  Based on research from the University of Derby and featuring the University Choir, this will be a fun and insightful event. More Details
  • Creative Writing: 4th October
    Capture your thoughts and ideas inspired by Gaia through creative writing – a fun session suitable for all from novice to novelist. More Details
  • Flowga: 5th October
    Flowga teacher Matilda Rowland will lead a fusion exercise class to stretch and strengthen, combining yoga, pilates and movement. More Details
  • Autumn Lunchtime Recitals: 7th October and 14th October
    Part of our popular lunchtime recitals series, but under Gaia! More Details
  • Derby Poetry Festival at Gaia: 12th October
    Join us for this for readings by local poets, with open mic opportunities.  All welcome to join in. More Details
  • Meet the Artist of Gaia Online: 13th October
    Internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram speaks about his work, inspirations and methodology to Prof Keith McLay, Provost – Learning & Teaching. More Details
  • The Blue Marble – University of Derby CivicLAB and public discussion: 14th October
    A facilitated discussion reflecting on the issues that Gaia presents.  This is an informal event where you can listen or participate.  Chaired by Dr Rhiannon Jones, Ass Prof (Civic). More Details
