D-Day 80th Celebration Commemoration

06.06.2024

You are warmly invited to attend the D- Day 80th Anniversary Commemoration
on Thursday 6th June at 17:30 at Derby Cathedral.

Thursday 6th June 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day when Allied forces mounted the largest ever amphibious operation, called Operation Overlord, landing on the Normandy
beaches. This service for all in the county of Derbyshire and the city of Derby will remember
the events of that day and give thanks for those who gave their lives in sacrifice for the
freedom we have today.

We hope that you will be able to join us for this important occasion. You are invited to stay
for refreshments afterwards and to listen to the Cathedral bells ring a commemorative peal
after the service.

We would kindly ask that you confirm your attendance, indicating whether you will
be joined by a guest by email to civic.support@derby.gov.uk
