Derby Ecumenical Green Network Local Pilgrimage

16.09.2023

 Derby Ecumenical Green Network

After the success of the Ecumenical Lent Course this year, which looked at The Encyclical Letter Laudato Si’ and our ecological responsibility, a group was formed to try and live out some of the lessons learnt during the course. Our aim is to meet to actively engage in the natural world, and to continue to learn from one another. We are launching this initiative with a Local Pilgrimage.

You are invited to walk through part of Darley Abbey Park and Chester Green exploring afresh our locality – a walk with opportunities to listen and look, to share and reflect, on the changes over the centuries.

The walk is approx. 3 miles and will take about 2 hours. Most of it is flat walking with one steeper gradient and the ramps for the two pedestrian bridges.

We will meet on Saturday 16 September outside St Mary’s Parish Hall from 1.45pm, to start the walk at 2.00pm and end at St Mary’s Chapel on the Bridge. Cars can be parked at St Mary’s car park.

Please book through Sheana Barby on sheana@talktalk.net (or if no access to email please call on 01332 383301). This will allow us to contact you (an hour beforehand) if major weather problems cause us to cancel.
