365 Days of War: Peace Procession for Ukraine

24.02.2023

To mark the first anniversary of the war on Ukraine join us on a peace procession through Derby to come together to share hope and prayers

You are invited to congregate at 18:00 for a short candlelit Peace Procession starting from Cathedral Green in Derby and walk via the marketplace and Iron gate towards the Cathedral tower, which will be lit-up with the Ukrainian colours and a short film by local artist by Phil Harris.

The procession will be invited to leave their candles at the base of the tower to create a giant ‘365’ – a powerful reminder of the anniversary. Afterwards the public are invited into the Cathedral for prayers led by The Very Reverend Dr Peter Robinson, Dean of Derby and are invited to write a message to the people of Ukraine on a specially created Sunflower of Hope.
