Tuesday 3rd March, 7–9 pm
An opportunity to sing as a group and learn music from the Taizé and Iona communities. After gentle body and voice warm-ups and a sung round, short songs and chants will be taught in four-part harmony. Simple hand movements and demonstration allow the music to be learnt naturally, by ear. Someone will always lead each part, so no-one is left on their own.
After an interval and light refreshments, the music is sung again in a more contemplative fashion. The ‘dazzling silences’ that follow the pieces can lead to an opportunity for meditation, or simply a reflective stillness in the beauty of the Cathedral.
All are welcome and there is no charge for the evening.
