(Two positions on a job share basis)
Derby Cathedral Choir lies at the heart of the Cathedral’s ministry and continues to be a very vibrant part of the musical life of the city and county, with their ever-growing reputation for excellence spreading far and wide. The Cathedral has vacancies for an Alto Lay Clerk on a Sunday morning only basis and a Tenor Lay Clerk on a Thursday Evensong and Sunday morning basis.
As well as singing at Cathedral services on Thursday from 5.55pm to 7.30pm (Tenor vacancy only) and on Sunday from10.00am to 12.05pm you will have the opportunity to tour with the Cathedral Choir both in the UK and abroad, participate in recordings, broadcasts, concerts and other exciting projects. There is also an active social life. These roles are offered on a job share basis with another Lay Clerk already in post who sings for the remaining services. In the event of a deputy being needed for your job share partner, the successful candidate would be the first port of call. Payment is £29 per service paid monthly and the successful candidate can expect to earn approximately £1300 per annum (Alto) or £2600 per annum (Tenor).
