An invitation to Derby Cathedral for the run up to Easter; The Politics of Easter: Making a Cross for Good Government

Holy Week 2015

The Bishop of Derby will soon be giving three Holy Week addresses at the Cathedral, details as below. He will be seeking to link the story of Christ’s passion and death with themes connected with good government and the forthcoming general election.

The Cathedral will be hosting a variety of services for all who are interested to gather round the Bishop and hear some of his interpretation. There will be free parking in the Cathedral car park or on Iron Gate, just outside the Cathedral.

The Politics of Easter: Making a Cross for Good Government

Monday 30 March – Poverty and the Public Purse: The Beginning of Good Government

Tuesday  31 March – Learning to Live Together: The Practice of Good Government

Wednesday 1 April – Business Success: The Support of Good Government

Each address will be in the context of a simple service at 7.30pm

The Dean of Derby, Dr John Davies, said today; ‘The Bishop of Derby is a member of the House of Lords with a close care for the good governance of this country. He is also immersed in the Christian story, living closely with the themes of Christ’s passion, death and resurrection. In his Holy Week addresses the two strands will come together. All will be very welcome to this intriguing series of talks.’
